Franz Schmidt is an upright and ethical banking official who finds himself having to make some difficult moral choices under the brutal Nazi regime. Marshall Browne has created a really likeable and human individual who remains true to himself in very dificult circumstances. This is the first in the series, and I can recommend it. Marshall Browne is an Australian author who has had a long career in international banking.
