Description

A delightful story of a pony, Sassy, and a dog, Tough Enough, who run away from their veterinarian's enclosure in an attempt to get back home to their owners, the Tatum family. Set in the Great Smoky Mountains of North Carolina and Tennessee, the pair encounter some interesting people along their way-including a couple that brings them to a zoo they own! Wonderfully illustrated by Ruth Carroll.

Cute enough story. Copyright 1963. Inseparable cute pony and cute little puppy get separated from their owner and have to make their way back. Written well for a children's story. I liked how they lived in North Carolina, now my home State, and wind up in Tennessee, a State I visited recently.

Heartwarming, Incredible Journey-esque tale of Tough Enough and Sassy, two four-footed best friends with a singular goal. When Sassy goes lame, the two are left temporarily at a veterinary hospital by their owners. Unsettled by the strange surroundings, and missing their familiar people, the Sassy and Tough Enough escape and begin to make their way home, encountering hardships, difficulty and danger along the way. Charming, full color illustrations, and a happy ending make this a charming addition to any horse lover's collection.
