What the Moon Is Like is a great book that successfully helps the reader imagine exactly what the moon is like. The book starts off with an illustration of people being drawn wondering what the moon is like, and then as we turn the page we see actual pictures of the moon itself. Each page gives us more information about the moon and about what it was like for the astronauts to discover and walk on the moon. I enjoyed how the book had actual pictures of the moon being discovered and cartoon illustrations as well. The moon is an amazing thing and this book will help readers get a greater sense of how amazing the moon truly is.
This is a wonderful and very educational book about all the aspects of the moon. I know little kids love to stare up at the moon and let their imaginations run wild. Space is such an interesting thing because it goes on forever and their is still so much left unknown. Kids will love exploring this book and reading about people who have been to the moon. They'll imagine themselves on the moon and if you encourage them to follow their dreams, this book just may spark their interests in becoming astronauts.
The sentences in this book are short and concise, so it would be a good book for a student to read on their own. This book answers a lot of questions about the moon in a straightforward manner that could strike the readers attention. The book begins by talking about what people think the moon looks like from earth. Then the book takes a closer look at the moon and goes into extreme detail. It tells young people all that we have learned about the moon so far through the trips we have taken. There are both illustrations in this book as well as real photographs. At the end of the book there are activities as well as websites for the reader to visit to learn more about the moon. This is imperative since after reading this book, many readers show more may find themselves thirsty for more information. show less
36 months - A great starter book for preschoolers who have little knowledge of space, the moon etc. Especially good for kids who enjoy a simple picture book format rather than the typical encyclopedic format with numerous images and bullets filling a page.
This is a great book that tells about the different aspects of the moon. Children will enjoy learning about the different sights and experiences that people face when they are on the moon.
Whether you see a man or a woman in the moon, this book is a great exploration to help young scientist understand how the world works.
The Moon and the Earth were created around the same time; however, the Moon and the Earth are very different. The Earth has an atmosphere while the Moon does not. The Earth has plenty of gravity while the Moon does not. The Earth also has water, air, dust, and wind while the Moon has none of these things. The Earth is ever changing while the Moon remains the same over the years. Help your child explore their world and its accomplice by reading to them this book. It will talk about how our astronauts have explored the Moon, what they found, and what they did. This book will help your child understand how we have come to know everything (or somethings) about the Moon. This book could be truly inspiring for your child to one day become an show more astronaut or a scientist. show less
