This book is good for counting and teaching about challenges; as far as games go. About a party where the challenge is to find as many jelly beans as possible and then whoever wins gets a big chocolat egg. Good for story time and around easter.
I read this for the "Character Who Wears Glasses" part of my 2020 reading challenge. It was simple and cute, I enjoyed the win at the end.
Summary: Arthur was the last to arrive at the party, he was the slowest one in all the races at the party so everyone was surprised when he won the chocolate egg prize for collecting the most jelly beans.

Reaction: This is a good lesson-teaching book. Even though Arthur is slow doesn't mean he cant win so the other children should not have been to eager in eating up all their jelly beans.

Extension: In the class room this is a way to teach children to have patients and not to under estimate others that are slower then themselves in any area of development. A discussing session would work well with this book.
The children in the book were sharing jelly beans and exploring the different cord that come in the package.
