Khorii, the teenage daughter of Acorna and Aari, navigates life in her parents' shadow. When a lethal plague threatens the galaxy and her parents' healing powers fail, Khorii must uncover the cause, battling a malicious force to save her family and the universe.

As a young Linyaari unaffected by the disease, Khorii, along with her android brother Elviiz and pet Khiindi, works to find the cause and a cure. While her parents are away fighting the plague, Khorii faces challenges at a school for war orphans and must deal with bullies and space-based dangers, including a hostile takeover of a ship by a classmate. Khorii discovers the plague is artificial, targeting specific populations, and works to identify the perpetrators before it's too late
