Early Dave Barry columns -- from his edgier, more political 1980s work, the stuff that won him that Pulitzer he touted the rest of his career. Less exploding whales and autoreferential booger jokes; more quietly angry discussions of Reagan, yuppies, and what Barry saw as the rise of a crap culture.
Dave is up to his usual standards. He takes on the government, daily life, no cow is sacred.

You young folk may not realize this, but there was a time Dave Barry was funny.
Enjoyable Dave Barry humor, but due to my interest in history, not as funny for me as Dave Barry Slept Here.
½
More good chuckles from the droll syndicated columnist.
