Description
Once upon a time in the 1980's, a girl named Beau was torn between two Mikes: did she prefer her high-school sweetheart or the sexy stranger she'd picked up in an airport bar? One she eventually married, the other she left behind (and forgot all about, or tried to, anyway). But which Mike did she choose? This delightful tale by the bestselling author of Slightly Single and Slightly Settled alternates between the story of Beau's summer of Mikes and the outcome fifteen years later, without show more giving away which Mike ended up where, in Beau's marriage bed or in her memory. In "The present" chapters, the former swinging single lives in the 'burbs with a childbirth-traumatized body, an increasingly distant husband and a sad sack maid who isn't much for cleaning. When out of the blue the Mike-not-taken sends her a flirty e-mail, she suddenly finds herself back to square one, trying to decide which man is the Mike of her dreams. show lessTags

I'll be the first to admit that this started out a bit slow for me. At first, I didn't think I was going to get into it but I told myself to keep going. I am so glad that I did! I was honestly torn between which Mike I wanted Beau to be married to, but a huge part of me was rooting for the business-card Mike. With each chapter, I thought I had it figured out and then I would get to the next one and completely question everything all over again. That in itself might frustrate some people, but it only egged me on even more. I'm so happy that I kept reading, because now I want to read even more from the author. I am usually all about blood and guts as horror is my favorite genre, but I think my feminine side is starting to creep its way show more into my daily reading. Rest assured that me saying that is the epitome of a compliment! show less
A lot of fun - she definitely did a good job keeping you guessing about which Mike the main character ended up with! The writing is great, too - easy to read, humorous, and entertaining. I loved all the cute 80s pop culture references, too.
Awsome book for anyone that ever had someone that got away. This book explores the questions and regrets experienced by falling in love more than once and wondering if you chose right. Feeling Beau's struggle, you are guessing who she ended up with until the very end.
Silly premise, definitely chicklit, but still entertaining.
I finished this one in a day, it was so good. I really liked it! Entertaining characters. Kept me guessing until the end.
I really enjoyed this book, it was a good read and it had all the elements of a good story.
