I watched the anime version of Inuyasha before I saw any of the translated manga, so I was already familiar with the first story, which is about Nobunaga (not THE Nobunaga) and the princess whose husband might be possessed by a demon. I'd also seen the adaptation of the third story, which introduces Shippo the kitsune, who will join the regular supporting cast.

I do not recall seeing any episode covering the middle story about the Mask of Flesh, which would make a good plot for a horror movie. My copy is of the second edition, also known as the 'action edition'.

There are scenes set in the present day as well as the past, if you enjoy reading about how Kagome's quest for the shards of the Shikon jewel some time in the 15th or 16th century show more A.D. interferes with her schooling and what could have been a nice romance with a cute normal boy. Yes, Sota, Kagome's little brother, has a role in volume three.

The first two stories are complete in this volume, but third is to be continued.
