We all know that George is always getting into trouble because of his curiosity. This time he goes to the vet with the man in the yellow hat. George wanders off in search of puppies and accidentally releases them all over the office! They are all eventually rounded up and everyone is happy in the end.
This is a great little book for readers who are ready to read more words on their own. There are a lot of words on each page to go along with the humorous illustrations, so this is not a book for beginner readers. However, if you can find a preschooler patient enough to listen, then it is also a great book for them because, as mentioned, the illustrations are fun.
I would recommend this book for my library (medium public library).

21 months - the moral of this story find a kitty and trade it in for a new model... A puppy instead. I don't know why I can't keep from thinking this every time we read this story. You of course enjoy any Curious George story.
This is a story about a curious little monkey who is cared for and treated like human, He is faced with a challenge of finding a missing puppy which he is capable to find. This is a great book for younger children for a read aloud.
This is a good example of fantasy because the main character is a monkey. Also, the main conflict of the story is that one of the puppies from a new litter is missing, which George eventually finds.
This modern fantasy stars a curious little monkey that is often acts and is treated like a human. The illustrations were done in watercolor and charcoal pencil.

Hans Augusto Rey was born on September 16, 1898 in Hamburg, Germany. He escaped to Paris with his wife after the Nazi's invaded. While in Paris, Hans's animal drawings came to the attention of French publisher, who commissioned him to write a children's book. The result, Rafi and the Nine Monkeys, is little remembered today, but one of its show more characters, an adorably impish monkey named Curious George, was such a success that the couple considered writing a book just about him. Their work was interrupted with the outbreak of World War II. As Jews, the Reys decided to flee Paris before the Nazis seized the city. Hans built two bicycles, and they fled Paris just a few hours before it fell. Among the meager possessions they brought with them was the illustrated manuscript of Curious George. The books were published by Houghton Mifflin in 1941. Curious George was an instant success, and the Reys were commissioned to write more adventures of the mischievous monkey and his friend, the Man in the Yellow Hat. They wrote seven stories in all. Their title Happy Halloween made The New York Times Best Seller List in 2013. At first, Margret's name was left off the cover because there was a glut of women already writing children's fiction. In later editions, this was corrected, and Margret now receives full credit for her role in developing the stories. H. A. Rey died in 1977 and in 1989 Margaret Rey established the Curious George Foundation to help creative children and prevent cruelty to animals. (Bowker Author Biography) show less
