This is a collection of ten stories that were originally published between 1941 and 1964. To be honest, just about all of them felt quite dated. If you are looking a sampling of takes on robots and AI and machines from this era, this could well be a good place to start. It is not particularly a book to pick-up if you are looking for compelling characterization or engaging story-telling.

Eight of these ten stories were new to me. My favorites were "A Bad Day for Sales" by Fritz Leiber, "The Twonky" by the Lewis Padgett amalgam of Henry Kuttner and C.L. Moore, and "Who Can Replace a Man?" by Brian Aldiss. ( )
