I read this book with my two year old nephew once and it was amazing what he absorbed from that one reading. The colors are so vibrant and just draws the attention of even the most inattentive child (like my nephew). Eric Carle doesn't use the traditional animals for some of the letters either and it introduces new animals to children.
Nice picture book but not consistent as an alphabet book to leach the letters and theirs sounds. Switches between long and short vowel sounds which can be confusing to young children learning the letters and corresponding sounds.

Great Book by Eric Carle's and this author's work is amazing and brings excitement to every young person determined to read. Children will love to read this book and so many more by this wonderful author!!!
This is a great book for young children who are just learning the letters of the alphabet. Each letter is represented alongside an animal whose name begins with that particular letter. This teaches children about the sounds letters make, introducing phonemic awareness.
If you need an ABC book, get this one! For one, you know its good because Eric Carle's books are always good! Also, it can be very interactive with children! There are letters as well as animals on every page. The illustrations are wonderful and kids will love it! This is a great ABC book and should be added to every collection! This can be used with children to learn their letters and is a fun book for children to look at!
"Eric Carle's, ABC's" by Eric Carle is an alphabet picture book. In this book, Eric Carle takes the reader on a journey through the alphabet. With each letter is an example of words that use that letter. I would recommend this book for no one older than kindergarten. This book is an extremely easy read that can help children develop their ABC's. I would absolutely use this book in my classroom.
This book, much like many other alphabet books, is great for very young children to absorb the pictures and attach those things to the letters they are learning. This helps them with memorization, and provides them with a fun learning experience!
