Devil holds my heart but Demon is a close second.
At the heart of the story is a nonsensical dilemma that takes center stage, turning what could be minor hurdles into significant challenges for our protagonists. While some may find the melodrama a bit over-the-top, I enjoyed it.
Demon’s allure and charm shine through, leaving me in love with him.
Despite the occasional exaggeration and the plot’s penchant for making a mountain out of a molehill, “A Rogue’s Proposal” is a delightful addition to my collection of historical romances.
Those who appreciate a healthy dose of cheesy romance will find themselves enchanted by the devilish allure of Demon.

A Rogue's Proposal
5 Stars
Determined to escape the matrimonial fate of his brother and cousins, Harry “Demon” Cynster travels to Newmarket to look in on his horses. Imagine his surprise when he encounters Felicity Parteger who has grown from a young girl in pigtails into a woman with luscious curves and the face of an angel. Seeking Demon’s aid in uncovering a race-fixing syndicate, Felicity soon realizes that the man she idolized as a child is now a real threat to her heart.
A captivating romance with a charming heroine who has the hero so wrapped up in knots, he doesn’t know if he’s coming or going.
Like his cousins, Demon starts out as the typical devilish rake who forsakes his womanizing ways when he meets his match in show more Felicity. Although there are moments when his arrogance gets the better of him and his standoffish behavior almost costs him the love of his life, Demon ultimately redeems himself with his open and honest declarations.
Felicity’s surface innocence actually conceals a stubborn, headstrong and independent woman who knows what she wants and is not afraid to go after it. Despite her intelligence and resourcefulness, she is often reckless and her shenanigans constantly keep Demon on his toes as he attempts to keep up and protect her.
Demon and Felicity’s interactions are exceedingly entertaining and their chemistry is tangible. Laurens’ writing in this area is superb both in terms of the steamy sex scenes and in the emotional intimacy as the reader feels the tension building between the pair.
The mystery focuses Demon and Felicity’s investigation into the fixing of horse races and is the best in the series this far. While the case appears at first to be anti-climactic, the tension ultimately ratchets up and the resolution is very satisfying.
The secondary characters in the form of Demon’s family are wonderful as they embrace Felicity whole-heartedly and accept her into the fold without reservation.
All in all, this is my favorite installment in the Cynsters’ series and I look forward to reading Gabriel’s book next. show less

I've been hoping this series would pick up, and it has with this one. Some unlikely things here or there, but nothing crazy. The plot focused more on their relationship and the characters out doing things rather than just muddling around with a weak mystery (there is a slight mystery in this one too, but thankfully it takes a back seat). I liked the characters more as well, and the language in their intimate scenes was much less flowery. I prefer this one more than the two before it put together (with a whole extra star to spare!). If you really loved those then maybe this is going down hill for you, lol, but if you weren't impressed before maybe give this one a try.
Demon Cynster's life changes when he notices that the "boy" riding his horse is in fact a girl and when he realises who it is he's dragged into horse race fixing and his interest is piqued by this woman, a woman he has known for years and only now sees her as an interest, the last time he saw her Felicity was very young but now she's all grown up.
I liked the story and could see a lot of the plot steps going on but they were interesting and fun. The two characters sparked well and I really liked Felicity's strength, as well as the fact that she continued to be herself even after she fell for Demon.

This book didn't end the way I thought it did and now I am going to wrack my brain for the book I am thinking about. I was a little disappointed that very few of the Bar Cynster showed up in this book. We do get to see more of Demon's mother and the Dowager as well as the twins. I like all the Bar Cynster and while Devil is my favorite the rest have found a place in my heart. I have all these books in print as well as e-books.
While I admire Felicity's spirit and determination I have a problem with a woman that can't see that she isn't capable of taking on a fully grown male without any martial training at all. Felicity "Flick" get into one scrape after another and could have been very badly hurt if the author had been so kind as to have show more Demon show up in just the nick of time. It provides for an exciting story but it isn't realistic.
Now Demon I can believe. He is all male and tries very hard to keep Flick out of any real danger and it becomes a full time job. Demon is also all Cynster and falls into Fate's trap head first. I loved that he found someone that shares his love of horses and the country. I think they will make a great couple.
As always Ms. Laurens has written a steamy romance that makes you want to find out what happens next no matter what time it is. These stories grab your attention from the beginning and hold it until you turn the last page. show less

This book started out well, I enjoyed the Hero, however I found the heroine to be immature, annoying, and at times ridiculous about 1/3 of the way though. I had to force myself to finish the book.
So utterly boring. I think I liked this book even less than the one before, Scandal's Bride.
A lot of horse breeding, race fixing, "Just because he wants to marry me, doesn't mean he LOVES me" whining.
I've read 5 books in the Cynster series and Devil's Bride was the only one I liked. How is this series so popular?
No witty insights to this book because I honestly sped read (ok, ok, skipped many pages) most of it.
