Shlomo Avineri is a professor of political science at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and a member of the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities. His books on Hegel, Marx, and Herzl have been translated into many languages. Avineri was the director-general of Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 1975-77 in the government of Prime show more Minister Yitzhak Rabin.
