Little Quack is a duck out of water. As his brothers and sisters splish, splash, and splosh their way into the pond behind their mama, he is left all alone on the shore. Little Quack wants to join his family. Can he find the courage to be a very small duck in a very big pond?
This is an adorable book for pre-k and kinder students as well as, for parents at home. It's an endearing story of a mother duck gently encouraging her ducklings to come to the pond to learn to swim. It's a fun book to use for beginning to learn how to count and it has nice visuals to support counting.
A cute little story about a duck called Little Quack. Momma Duck goes out of the nest into the pond and convinces her children to follow her. All of them, at first, are afraid to do so. They fear the unknown. The last one to try is little Quack. And I am not going to give it away but I will say that this book does have a happy ending.

I happen to like this book, as it is one that an adult should read to a young toddler at story time or at bed time. The pictures in it are nice and big for the child to follow along in. But the print is small, which is why I feel an adult should read this to them.

The bonus I get with this version of the story is that it comes in two languages. English and Spanish. So, if the parent is Bilingual, this would show more be a bonus. The child gets two stories in one. show less
Ten little ducks are afraid to start swimming, but one by one they join their mama, until the last one is left - Little Quack.

Children's counting book.

This is a cute little book. The duck's personalities are appealing, each one is so unique. It's still a little counting book, just a little ho-hum.

This is a good preK book. The ducks all have their unique personalities, and the biggest aren't always the bravest. It is cool that as they count down the ducks on land they count up the ducks in the water. Good for number sense.
This book is about five little ducklings that are scared to get in the water for the first time when their mama introduces it to them. One by one they get just brave enough to jump in the water, until Little Quack is the last one left in the nest. After encouragement from his mama and siblings, he finally jumps in.

This is a very cute book with funny illustrations. I like how each duckling has a different personality to them. Also, I like how it has a "quack-u-lator" at the bottom of each page to help kids count.

This book could be used to teach a lesson on counting to five, by counting both the ducklings in the pond and the ducklings still in the nest. After the counting lesson, you could have the children paint on rubber ducks to show more express their own personality, and then this could serve as a reminder of the book and lesson during bath time. show less
This book starts out telling us how many siblings Little Quack has. Momma tells all of her ducklings that they have to leave one day. Little Quack was not ready to leave his momma. All of his brothers had jumped into the pond, but he was left on the land. He decided he would sniff the water. He touched it and went for it. He closed his eyes and into the water he plunged. Momma knew he could do it.
A mamma duck as five little ducklings, Widdle, Waddle, Piddle, Puddle and Little Quack and she teaches them to swim one day. They are all very scared and have never left their nest. As Mamma encouraged them to come join her on the water, they were all very scared and huddled close in their safe nest. Eventually Widdle, Waddle, Piddle and Puddle all got the courage one by one to jump bravely into the pond. They found that it was very fun and they loved the pond. Little Quack was still scared to leave the nest. As he hears his Momma and siblings calling for him to jump into the pond too, Little Quack takes his time. First he gets closer to the water and looks at it, then sniffs it and touches it with his foot. He debated it and then show more suddenly feeling just brave enough, just like his siblings had before him, he closed his eyes and ran into the water. Then all five of the babies and their Momma were in the water and they went for a swim together. show less
