I heard a wonderful radio interview with Mollie Katzen when this book first came out. the sound of something cooking in the background made my mouth water as I drove home from work! I went through my usual "I don't need to buy anymore books" and got it from the libray a few times before finally buying my own copy. Some wonderful straightforward recipes. After trying everbody's ideas for sweet potato fries, here they are. That recipe alone is worth the price of the book.
Just plucked this off the shelf at the library, and I will definitely be acquiring my own copy. The recipes I've tried so far have been easy to follow and good. The "Oven Fried" Sweet Potatoes are just plain yummy -- hubby liked them, too. We've had them as a side dish, and as an evening snack "fried" crispy with just a touch of garlic salt. Mmmmm....
I found this cookbook absolutely delightful. I have made the Sweet and Sour Red Cabbage several times and it's just marvelous.
