In my opinion this a great book. The book has colorful illustrations, broaden perspectives, and has engaging writing. The illustrations specifically match the writing. The writing is in the style of poetry. An example of this is "Ellen takes it nice and slow, time to watch the flowers grow." The writing style bring readers into the story. The poetry is fun and creative. The book broaden the perspective of the readers through the main idea. The main idea of the is how different students get to school each day from different parts of school through different modes of transportation.
“This is the Way We Go to School” is a book that shows the different ways that children all around the world go to school. The author doesn’t writ much on the pages, the words are simple words that rhyme. The author and illustrator do a wonderful job depicting the joy all of these children have for going to school. The author made the story so cheerful and happy it almost makes one want to go to school in all of these different places. Also at the end of the book the author tells the reader where all of the children are from and after that there is a picture of a map with numbers showing you exactly where in the world all of these countries are.
This is a book about all of the different ways kids go to school all around the world. Some children go to school by train, others go by boat, and some kids just walk to school enjoying the landscape of their country.

I thought this was a very interesting book that children would really enjoy. My favorite part about this book is that it lists which country every kid in the book is from. There is also a map included that where each country mentioned is located. This would be a very good teaching tool for kids.

I would use this book throughout a geography unit. There are several examples of different cultures all over the world. This would also be a good book to use for a language unit. For instance, students could learn how to say show more "hello" in all of the countries from the book. show less
This is the way we go to school is a multi cultural book about how different students from different places go to school each day. Some children walk, some roller blade, some take helicopters, and so on. I think this book is a very entertaining book to have in the classroom so that children know that they only way things are done are not necessarily how they do them. I also think this book does a very good job at teaching young children about all the differences not only in the world but in the United States as well.

One activity you could do in the classroom is have the students get together in small groups and have them tell each other how they come to school each day so that they could see the differences even in the classroom. show more Another activity you could do would be to challenge the students to try to come to school a different way and share with the class what that way was and if they liked it. show less
Some children walk to school; others ride a bus. Children go by ferry in New York, vaporetto in Italy, trolley car in San Francisco, and helicopter in the Alaskan Tundra. With fun-filled rhymes and colorful illustrations, children will discover just how much fun getting to school can be.
The world is such a big place and there are so many differences in every country. This book shows the different ways students go to school all over the world. This is a multicultural story that broadens children's knowledge in knowing that other children do things differently in different places. I thought this was a cute book and I was interested myself, to see how children around the world get to and from school.
A fun insight into the lives of different children around the world and how they travel to school.

I was interested into this book because I am a military brat, I’ve seen first hand some of the ways children went to school in places, it was interesting to see how children in places I’ve never been to get to school.

1.research other places that weren’t in the book and draw a poster.

2. Journal entry on how they are brought to school, how it makes them feel, and how they would wish they were brought to school.
