I found the two books of the Jane Nichols series, AKA Jane and Run Jane Run, in a bookshop and thought I might as well pick them up. They sat on my shelf for a good long time before I got around to reading the first of the two. Despite the goofy titles, I found them to be very good, very enjoyable books.

British MI5 agent Jane Nichols in a lot of ways was a bit much, she seemed like a composite of too many disparate pieces. Orphaned young and raised by a wealthy grandfather to... carries a James Bondian Walther PPK and is the best deep-deep cover agent in the history of the universe. All that aside, I really liked both of the stories and the main thing was ALL of the characters were well written. I was invested in the characters much show more more than I was the story.

Unfortunately it doesn't look like there is going to be a third book in the series.

Jane Nichols, British MI-5 agent, was injured in her last case involving IRA terrorists. Her boyfriend was killed. She's "retired" to Savannah, Georgia, writing spy novels (under name of Max Murdock). But she's asked to work on one more case, involving a philanthropist, drugs, and munitions.
Moura, AKA Molly, AKA Max, AKA Jane Nichols, is an MI-5 counter-assassin who flees to Savannah Georgia. She plans to rest, to write, and to hunt down the killer of the spy who loved her... An average thriller - lots of suspense, but I didn't like it that much.
