I have had this book for awhile. I got it at a used book sale a long time ago and its one of those books I always go back and read from time to time. It is simply written, but is a great story line. The characters seem real and are very relatable. It is was written in 1965, but is set in 1902 and is a great historical romance! ( )

From vintage scholastic cover: "I've been thinking, Megan, that in a year or so you and I could do worse than be married. It would be the suitable thing."

Megan could only gasp and stare at Lloyd in utter astonishment. Another man was proposing to her!

Life on a homestead ranch in Canada proves to be full of surprises for 17-year-old Megan Griffith. The orphanage in which she grew up never prepared her for family life...or for a world full of love.
