What a GREAT book! I checked this out from the library all the time! I was always amazed it was in the library and that adults would sanction it! Too bad it's not the seventies still. I've heard this is no longer in print and would not be acceptable by today's prim and proper standards. There are all sorts of poems about naughty children that are SO funny. I think there's something in there about prank calls and yes, I made prank calls every weekend with my friend. Saturday afternoon entertainment in the days before caller ID and video games. ( )

Absolutely one of the best poetry books EVER for 9-12 year-olds! I had this one as a child and it has lost none of it's appeal for today's kids. The original edition was illustrated by Tomi Ungerer in 1964, and a later edition was illustrated by Shel Silverstein in 1977 (in which "Sarah Cynthia Sylvia Stout" the infamous garbage resister first appeared).
