„Najbolje Handkeovo delo.

Njegova ljubavnica? Prostitutka?

A writer, once the icon of his country but now rarely recognized, hosts a gathering on his houseboat on the Moravian River. One by one almost furtively, guests arrive, including a woman who has pursued him throughout his recent travels.

He recounts traveling through places that had been important in his life and career, including his boyhood home where his brother, much changed, still lives.

The woman appears at almost every destination – sometimes benign, sometimes beloved, sometimes evil.

The writing is quite evocative, as the author plays with reality, and memory.

Not bad – a bit too philosophical for my taste. Although each sentence is beautifully written, the story as a whole does not draw me onwards.

Eine traurige Geschichte?

"Man würde sehen."

Daß du der Sohn deiner show more Sekunde seist.

Libro molto bello, parzialmente autobiografico, sulla vita e sulla guerra.
