In this story you will find a warrior, Kieran, proud King of Gleannmara (the great-grandson of Maire and Rowan from book one in this series, "Marie"). Then you will have a woman, Riona, who takes under her wings 3 orphans but questions how she can adopt them without a husband. Finally you have the "ways of God" where the proud King finds himself a fugitive for a murder he did not commit, and depending upon Riona to help him while 3 little "misfits" come along on the chase to prove his innocence.
One review states the story very well, "Lord Kieran of Gleannmara depends on nothing and no one save his wit and skill with steel, but soon a deadly twist of fate forces him to acknowledge his need not only for the lady Riona and her worrisome show more entourage, but for her Lord as well." This was very well written, although I must admit I liked the 1st book in the series "Maire", better. As one reviewer stated, this "weaves a tapestry of Irish myth and legend with the glory of knowing Christ, creating a masterpiece of medieval fiction." (quote from Liz Curtis Higgs review) show less

The overall book was good, but there were a couple Biblical errors. Especially in talking about the washing of feet, names were given to people that did not have names in the Bible. Also, there was a section where they discovered a part that is important to the overall plot and it appears that part of the conversation is skipped and hard to follow.
The action and adventure was fun and believable. I did enjoy reading this book. It was a great sequel to Maire. Read more: http://christianfictionaddiction.com/book_reviews/riona.htm
