This is an interesting and wide-ranging book on symbols from all over the world. It is quite extensive in how it defines signs and symbols, from colours and gestures to animals and architecture - it covers good ground considering it is an introduction to the topic. There was definitely an effort to look at all sorts of cultures from across the world and through time, but there was an accent on Christianity. The text is easy to read and it has a glossary for easy reference.
I enjoyed reading as a refresher on the multiple ways in which humans communicate. The illustrations were pleasant and clear.

A good overview of Signs and Symbols but I would like to read something a little more in depth.
This is an interesting and useful book. Every wonder why eggs are important at Easter. Pictures of and descriptions of signs and symbols around the world. Ancient and modern symbols that are still used. Great resource book.
