This has to be the best general level book about growing mushrooms. If you want to start, or already have some experience in growing them, this is a must. First it gives advice about mushroom growing in general, and then introduces most of the fungi that are grown commercially or at home.
If you are interested in growing mushrooms, I recommend this warmly.
A very detailed work by Paul Stamets. Here there is as much practical theory and background about mushrooms as a whole before there is even anything about growing. His book published in the late 1980s, The Mushroom Cultivator, is a great resource and introduction to this book. Together they spill out tons of practical knowledge explained in detail from a reknowned and veteran'd mycologist. This is a must-read for any home cultivator.
Third Edition. The most comprehensive manual of mushroom cultivation ever.
