Dr Phil is the no nonsense straight shooting guy, we have learned to love from his TV shows. In this book he is able to get that same message across in a very direct yet encouraging manner. Totally readable and something there for any teen to adult to learn from. His underlying christian spirit also comes through his writings, which is something I like.

Eh. When Dr. Phil first came on the scene, I liked his "tough love" approach, but after a while, it gets old. I found this book interesting, and I enjoyed it for a while, and worked through some of the exercises, but after a while I find he gets repetetive in his rhetoric. I got about half-way through this, and then gave up on it. It just wasn't my style.
I like the no-nonsense approach to counseling that he and others are starting to advocate. 1. You either get it, or you don't. 2. You create your own experience. 3. People do what works. 4. You cannot change what you do not acknowledge. 5. Life rewards action. 6. There is no reality; only perception. 7. Life is managed; it is not cured. 8. We teach people how to treat us. 9. There is power in forgiveness. 10. You have to name it to claim it.
A workbook from the prolific Dr Phil who provides various strategies to improve your life. Encourages readers to identify goals and work towards them. It is successful, but only if readers actually complete the exercises.
Life-changing! Dr Phil tells readers how to make the changes they want to see in their lives - IF they truly want change, rather than excuses.
The secret to life is not just making a gigantic notebook full of lists. Dr Phil should stop writing books and shouldn't point at you or make a fist on the covers. It is not inspiring.
