Listened to an audio rendition by LeVar Burton.

A melancholy, but hopeful story of an automaton mourning her platoon, and adopting a human child. Although the robot character is built as a killing machine, she teaches the child about kindness, sacrifice, and other nicer aspects of humanity that she’s learnt from her platoon members.

A lot of stories about AI are doom and gloom, so it was interesting to listen to a story about an AI that doesn’t just reflect the dark side of humanity. ( )

An AI war machine tries to memorialize it's dead platoon. A very good, moving story. ( )
