Sully created the perfect bedtime story for children two to six or seven within this book of "Where, Oh Where Is Huggle Buggle Bear." Within the story a little boy is trying to go to bed, but he can't seem to find his favorite stuffed animal teddy bear. The story takes the reader through his search for the teddy bear and the bear's friends by checking places like the kitchen since he had a snack there or checking the bath because the little boy needs to take a bath before bed. At the end the little boy grows sleepy and heads to his room. Once in his room he finds all his stuffed animals asleep on his bed. There is no message to this book since it's main purpose is to help children be put into bed. The rhyming that is in this book creates almost a lullaby for children to get sleepy to. Whenever I read this book to children they are asleep within ten minutes. ( ) This was a really sweet book with wonderful colorful pictures. In this book the little boy is trying to find his bear that he sleeps so comfortably with every night. He searches everywhere throughout the house and ends up finding his bear right where he needs it to be, in his bed. This book rhymes and has a lot of repetition in it. This would be great to introduce young readers about rhyming phrases and repetition. This book also has many adjectives to describe the bear. When trying to show the many different ways and words to describe objects, you could read this book and show how this little boy described his bear so the students could see it first hand. I love the idea of bringing a childs favorite stuffed animal to life when we aren't looking. I think everyone had that Idea when they were children ( I believe they have made 3 Toy Story's about just that idea). I like that the book kept repeating the same lines since repetition is beneficial to little kids, and that they replaced the adjective with a new word each time because it helps expand vocabulary. no reviews | add a review
