Six high school friends go to a supposed "haunted" barn to call a spirit to life. In the process one of the girls is killed. The girls keep this a secret for years. Years later someone is stalking and killing the participants of this group. Who knows their secret?

I liked this one even better than Since You’ve Been Gone. Similar elements: female protagonist, secrets from the past, and the supernatural. Well, the only supernatural element ends up not being supernatural at all, but since it’s “witchcraft”, that’s something.

Laurel has a secret: she and a group of friends in high school who called themselves The Six of Hearts used to get together in an old barn and do witchcraft rituals, and one night things went wrong and Laurel’s best friend, Faith, dies in a horrible fire. It’s written off as a suicide, but the girls who were present know the truth and swear never to tell. Ten years or so later, though, the other Six of Hearts show more are being killed off one by one, and of course Laurel has to figure it out before she’s next. An old formula, but a good one! show less
Guter Krimi!
