I love this book because when I was a child I would wander off and my parents would have to look for me and I can relate to it.
Little Wombat series, super cute illustrations. Little Wombat is playing hide-and -seek with his friends, he gets very distracted, and eventually remembers to hide. No one comes to find him and then he gets lost and then it rains and then he cries. In the end all is good mama finds him a he gets to jump in puddles. Good interaction, could use for counting as well.
As long as you have good friends,
you'll never really be lost.
