An entertaining adventure with a secret Nazi trip over the Arctic, pirate treasure from 500 years ago and a psychotic bunch of Eskimos engaging in a diabolical plot to create Frankenfish.
St. Bart's 2015 #3 - another enjoyable adventure with the boys and girl of NUMA. As is weirdly often the case, i somewhat randomly choose the books for my annual island vacation, and while I do choose a book that I know has island connections, others seems to innocently creep in. Unbeknownst to me, a fairly important part of this takes place on the Faroe Islands between Iceland & Denmark. Now there is a new place on my ' to go' list! Lots of typical Cussler swashbuckling and unfathomable good luck follow the crew from Copenhagen to the north woods of eastern Canada. I do enjoy how Cussler continues to allow me to think differently about the oceans and their importance to the planet. Great vacation fare.
Another enjoyable Kurt Austin adventure from Cussler following his trademark format that leads from an historical event (two in this case) to a present-day adventure.
A mysterious collision between an environmentalist protest ship and a navy ship leads to the discovery of a organisation plotting to make millions from seafood.
Cussler stories are reminiscent of James Bond movies, and in this case the story line ends up vaguely familiar with Goldfinger.

This is the first book of Cussler's that I've read and I'm afraid I wasn't impressed. The Prologue was an excellent scene set at sea in the 16th century but unfortunately we don't meet any of these folks again. The main story takes place in the present day and here the characters are at best stereotypes but more often caricatures. The plot quickly veers from the improbable to the unimaginable. There are some lovely descriptions of the Faeroe Islands, which makes me want to visit these remote outposts, and some thrilling scenes, but overall I regretted the time I spent with this book.
Really enjoyed this title; whilst some plots are verging into unrealistic in Cussler's books (yet still enjoyable) this was both realistic & enjoyable. Would read again!
Intriguing read, but it took me forever to get through because when I put it down I wasn't compelled to pick it up right away. It was a fun action/adventure book with some crazy twists, but ultimately not one of my favorite Clive Cussler novels.
I truly loved this latest outing with Kurt, Joe, Admiral Sandecker and even an appearance by Rudi Gunn. I now long for another installment featuring Dirk, but I am thrilled that with the introduction of Kurt, I no longer have to wait a full year and a few odd months before I see something new from Cussler.
