This was the Battle of Midway, right down to the squadron numbers, specific actions, carrier dispositions, size of reef, and number of dead. That would have been sort of fun if the back story and human interest side stories had been spiced up a bit to be engaging, but this was just lazy Science fiction. I considered giving it only one star, but I'm trying to reserve that for books that wasted my time with longer stories. ( )

This book was all right, nothing spectacular. I kept noticing how he came up with new names—reversing names like Melinda and Gordon, etc. Also, the fact that we were chronically behind in technology in a fleet that is supposedly protecting the Earth and core planets from Berserker invasion was just a little too much.
