Description

Steve Rogers might have been the prototypical 98-pound weakling, but that wasn't going to stop him from serving his country. Transformed by the Super Soldier Serum into America's #1 fighting man, he became a symbol of patriotism, hope and perseverance on the eve of the nation's entrance into World War II. Painstakingly restored, this collection presents the first four issues of Captain America Comics. Collecting: Captain America Comics 1-4

A collection of the first four Captain America comics from 1939. Not subtle in any way, but still quite interesting in its obvious anti-Nazi message and the absolute "peachykeen-ness" of the Captain himself. I did find it quite entertaining how he and Bucky always get in trouble with the army when they've gone AWOL to save the world. Very clean, nice, and morally unassailable. The other comics included (Tuk the Caveboy and Hurricane) are also fun, but without the star quality of the main heroes.
