I wasn't too enthralled myself, but I reckon that it's a good early reader. My son has been reading me a chapter a night, and he's been fairly eager. But, I think it's more because he CAN read it, rather than him enjoying the stories. In fact, I suspect he barely got any of the jokes without me explaining (except maybe the one about the pumpkin, also by far the longest story), they were a bit above his head, poor thing. I suppose he might get more out of it if he was a couple of years older ... ( )
