These are very, very short and light mysteries intended for a young audience, starring a young son of a detective who ends up doing all the detecting (in the stories, at least). They would get an extra star if they were like the Encyclopedia Brown mysteries and put the answer at the back; given that they are all one-clue mysteries, it's hard to work without that. Perhaps they would get more points if I were younger, but while Encyclopedia Brown has paled since I read them as a child, I think I can firmly say these are about one and half stars less than the normal EB mystery, as a child or now. (And the cover text on my edition seems to imply that the comparison to the EB stories came to other minds, with the emphasis on Larry's dictionary. The cover, unfortunately, gives away parts of two of these mysteries.) I'm keeping it as Asimovia only. ( ) no reviews | add a review
