The Children’s Book of Faith by William J. Bennett illustrated by Michael Hague
This book has poems and stories about various Christian people. It directed at children of the age that are learning more about their faith. It has some good poems and stories in it.
I think this book is too broad of an approach to Christianity. I would not let my child read this book without some explanation. I also dislike lack of minority presence in the pictures.
I would use this book with third to fifth grade students to give them an overview on the Christian religion. I would ask the students to pick three stories or poems and write a short summary for each. I would ask the fourth and fifth grade to write what they agree and disagree with.
