themulhern Shakespeare and Macbeth is a serious book for juvenile readers about the history, in both senses of the word, that inspired the play, and about the political circumstances that likely influenced Shakespeare's subject and his plot. Definitely worth reading for the extra background.

Large format book with illustrations on every page. I'm not sure exactly how the illustrations were divided between the illustrators. Full of interesting information about the theater at the time, the historical situation when the play was written, and the story itself.
