When Elliott Patterson disappears with $50,000 of Brunswick College's money, John Putnam Thatcher is called in to help find answers to a senseless puzzle. I think this is one of the weaker entries in the series, but it's an effective mystery and you probably won't guess who the murderer is.
Another read in this series. Would appear that it matters not what order they are read in.

A fund raiser disappears as does a large bearer bond. His wife and family ar totally inconsistent with such actions. The explanation of the car crash is reminesecent of the post man explanation in one of Chesterton’s Father Brown stories.

Not a car chase shoot - Em up crime story (when the chief protaganist is a Wall Street banker ) .

Did not guess the murderer but did spot another key mystery...for spoiler reasons cannot say more.
Apparently there are some 24 in the series so there are a few to go...
