As the title suggests, this is a book of all the teas from China and one of the main parts of it is the directory of Chinese teas and the various trademarks they are sold under.

The book has a slight focus upon the health benefits of tea, but to be honest, I didn't notice it until the authors said it themselves after about two thirds of the book. I am not very found of, in my opinion, New Ageish angle of some books but this is not one of them. It is a good book, the authors has researched the area well and the text is well written, but a little dull at moments. It contains a lot of pictures, old as new, and some are really interesting, like the way tea where carried to the harbour in old times--really good tea was not allowed to touch show more the ground, not even when the man carrying it was resting--but they are all in black and white. A little color, at least on separate color plates in the middle of the book, would have helped a bit, but the typographer has done a good job of turning the text into a book. Maybe a little square and formal in the appearance but well done nonetheless. If one is interested in the Chinese teas, I would say that this is one of the books to get. show less
