Animal friends and fun songs make this movie a real treat. There's just one thing that really sticks in my craw. After her father's death, Cinderella is banished to the attic of her father's chateau... which can only be accessed by a twisty flight of stairs. I get that this added dramatic effect to show more how Cinderella was isolated from the house, but having a tower with so many stairs just seems like a really unwieldy waste of space. It's just really poor architectural design.
A girl is forced to do a full day's work, with only an army of mice and birds to wait on her.
Despite how I feel about the story, I found the movie much more enjoyable than I'd remembered it. Perhaps my appreciation for adorable critters has grown since the last time I saw it.

Have watched this many times and never tire of its beauty, music, and humor.

I found it to be a pretty dull affair overall. The animation really is a big strength as somehow it translates THE magical feeling captured in well done hand drawn animation that could not be recreated in further soulless live action remakes of m ore recent times. I really enjoyed the side characters of the mice who brought a lot of fun and heart to this tale. The vile step mother really stole the show, but this film was aimed at little girls, so it was really never going to win me over.
