A Fine Romance

If I was giving points out just by the points and arguments made in this book, it would be 5 stars without a doubt. However, the writing style is rather boring and hard to keep ones' interest. Please do stay focused and get to the part about "The Switch." Where the pursuer in the relationship cools off just as the pursued starts to respond and results. Very insightful and taught me a lot about the dating world. I have yet to hear of another author write about The Switch in relationships and how it affects them. So, for originality, this book deserves 5 stars but for its boring narrative it deserves somewhere around 1 star... after calculations this comes out to an average of 3 stars.

If there's a second edition, the author needs to show more expand the book by adding a chapter before The Marriage Stage. What relationships progress as quickly as those outlined in this book? After this expansion, there needs to be some tightening up of the writing style. Maybe get Harriet Lerner's editor because The Dance of Connection deals with some of the concepts touched upon in this book without boring you. show less
