Not terribly in-depth, but useful as an introductory text after the first time you electrocute yourself and want to avoid repeat encounters with The Angry Blue Spark.
The book addresses things like wire gauge, box size, and tricks for cutting into existing walls and using fish tapes in a casual, breezy way that's fine for beginners. But if you have a question that's not vanilla, you really need to find a person who knows a little about wiring.
Handy, but not a life-saver; a good gift for first-time homeowners from the patient person they keep calling with dumb questions. (Hi, Mr. McKenna!)

This entry in the series may be a little more dated than some of the others - I think electrical techniques may have changed more than other aspects of home improvement over the years - but largely, it is probably still as useful a book as when it was first written. This is the easiest-to-follow home repair series I have seen.
