Conclusion of the Dark Age trilogy (or is it?). This is a cliffhanger ending, leaving us waiting for the next book. We know more is to come since we are in the midst of a crisis and the resolution is not yet. Will humanity survive, or will anti-life be victorious?

It takes a moment or two to get up to speed.

It pulls together characters from Devil in the Green and Queen of Sinister and some new ones too to give them a new group of Brothers and Sisters of the Dragon. There's also a rather welcome look at the survivors of the old brothers and sisters from the Age of Misrule series.

The world is going to hell in a handbasket. Our heroes have to try and stop it. Lots of shit hits the fan, we have a fimbulwinter and something that fractures the Golden Ones into distinct groups. We have human politics making a mess of things as usual too.

It won't work as a stand alone despite a couple of glosses, in fact I'll be going back to read the earlier books because it's been a while since I have and there are details I don't recall clearly, but it's definitely good. ( )
