This short story features one of Robert E, Howard's lesser-known characters, namely Bill Clanton.
In this tale Clanton winds up aboard a ship called "The Saucy Wench", where he in fact discovers a saucy wench named Raquel, who has been mistreated by the captain.
Unsurprisingly Clanton and Raquel fall for each other - in lust, rather than in love - and the captain isn't best pleased about it.
Things come to a head when Clanton runs the ship aground as a result of drink sailing.
Anyone familiar with Howard's works may have a good idea of what type of people live on the island where the ship is temporarily stuck.
