Warren Anderson is shocked by the brazen advances of his despised enemy's beautiful niece. Though determined to resist her, he burns for the enchanting British minx. And an impassioned heart implores him to surrender to a love that could show more stoke the smouldering fires of a family feud into a dangerous, all consuming blaze. show less

This is one I have read more than once!
I was a bit bothered by the age of the heroine, but considering it is a historical romance I could semi-believe the story. It helped that I completely adored the heroine. She was funny and never gave up on her feelings for the hero despite what others might've said. I don't usually like reading about younger heroines as they can be immature and it is just not believable to me that they could truly be in love, but the heroine in this one was written so well that i couldn't help but adore and root for her.
Amy Malory, niece of James and Anthony, and possessed of the black hair and cobalt eyes of their gypsy ancestor has set her cap for Warren Anderson, her new Aunt George's brother. And I do mean set her cap. She goes about seducing Warren out of his perpetually foul mood (due to being jilted and betrayed) with a single-mindedness that seems more suited to a modern day character than a Victorian British maiden of wealth and nobility. But, good on her, because it works out and everyone lives happily ever after.
The Magic of You continues with the Malory and Anderson families. Amy Malory and Warren Anderson are the main focus of this book. Amy has her coming out and has already found the man she will marry. Even though he doesn't know it yet.

Amy is all of 17 when she has her party. Warren is one of Georgina's older brothers. The first time Amy meets Warren she knows that he will be her husband. This book was very entertaining. The seduction that Amy does to get under Warren's skin is delightful.

Warren has been hurt before and is a very angry and distrustful of women and of marriage. Amy is determined to change all that. Amy is a wonderful girl that has learned a lot from her Uncle's, James and Tony. I can't wait to continue this series.
Johanna Lindsey is an author I have read for many years and while her books are not amazing they are a good solid rainy afternoon escape. I think the best part of her books are the characters who are multi-faceted and keep me engaged in the book.
This is a Malory novel. I adore them. I am so excited every time she writes a new book that involves them. The brothers are dangerous but love their families and the women are strong. In fact I have my very own James. I do have to say JL did seem to completely change Warren's personality for this book. He was very stiff and then got a personality. He actually became likeable.
Typical Lindsey historical. Overblown emotional yarn with great characters. Quick read.
Okay, I'm cheating here, and I don't like them all equally, but I do love the Mallory's. They're all funny. I especially liked "Love Only Once" (the first book), "Gentle Rogue" (my favorite), and "The Magic of You" (where the heroine chases the hero shamelessly).

Johanna Lindsey was one of the world's most successful romance authors. She has written over 30 books, of which 54 million copies are in print and have been translated into 12 languages. Lindsey was born with the name Johanna Helen Howard on March 10, 1952. As a young wife and mother, Lindsey became a great fan of romance novels and wrote her show more first book, Captive Bride in 1977, on a whim when she was 25. To the young author's great surprise, it made The New York Times Bestsellers list. Lindsey had found a romance formula that worked. Take any setting past or present, introduce a rascally rakish male and a romantic heroine, let their hearts ignite with passion, lust, and love. Lindsey has something of a cult following, following such titles as "Heart of Thunder", "Hearts Aflame", "A Heart So Wild", and ''Keeper of the Heart". She has loyal fans reading "Glorious Angel" and "Gentle Rogue" and legions of devotees buying her Malory family series. In 2014 her title, Stormy Persuasion, made The New York Times Best Seller List Johanna Lindsey passed away on October 27, 2019 at the age of 67. (Bowker Author Biography) show less
