An English professor (and a good one) of mine back in the day didn't like this book, bless her heart, but , bless her heart she was wrong.

As the title implies, the book reminds us of what we should know. And it covers those basics in an easy-to -follow format.

It covers grammatical terms, the mechanics of writing, the writing process, Writing related to business, among many other things. What helped me a lot was its advice on the forms of certain letters.

The book has been through many revisions and is the best one that I have seen. This or something like it would be valuable for anyone who needs the rules of writing close at hand. I say "something like it" because this was written before the online revolution and so some of the advice is show more probably archaic. But even if that is the case, this guide will still give a solution to many of the problems a writer faces. show less
