Description
The new government of Tiguafaya has finally brought peace to a people long suppressed by its tyrannical rules. But it may not last, for now a much greater power threatens the Firelands - the mighty Empire to the north, whose emperor will not tolerate the Tiguafayans heretical belief in magic. However, the attempts to resolve the dispute by diplomacy will all count for nothing if the fire and lava shaking the ground cannot be controlled.Tags

This book, through no fault of its own, was read over the course of a month, and my opinion of the book is colored by that. Some parts seemed to drag and then the last 100 pages or so just flew. And again, perhaps because it took me so long to find time to read, I ended up with some unanswered questions. I think I would have enjoyed this book more if I had been able to read it over the course of a week instead of a month, so it's hard to know how much my rating reflects my experience or the weakness of the book itself.
