According to the inside of the front cover of this book, it is based upon a song by the author. The song is also titled "Snuggle Puppy". The book follows along and illustrates the lyrics of the song, which is one of affection towards a dog. The illustrations are not especially intriguing - they feature a large, parent dog singing to a puppy. This book might be intriguing for younger audiences because of the repetition; however, I think that there are better books out there.

Ok so it's not the most brilliant work of fiction and not our favorite Boynton book but it does make H smile... So it's worth a few reads now and again. ( )

My daughter is 3 months old and she LOVES Snuggle Puppy! We've just started reading time as a part of her bedtime routine and this book holds her attention more than any other. You can tell she likes the song and is captivated by the images. As many other reviewers have said, it's fun to make up your own tune to the song. ( )
