TendingEmbers Both stories feature forgetful boys sent to town to get things for their mothers. Failure to repeat the initial list, replacing it instead with the last words of those they meet, results in misunderstandings along the way.

This is one of my favorite books to use for patterns, poetry, and vocabulary. The rhyming that the author uses is like poetry and is allows students to hear a flow. The vocabulary used is also great for a reader.

Tedd Arnold was born in Elmira, New York. He earned a fine arts degree from the University of Florida. He and his wife, Carol, lived in Tallahassee where he worked as a commercial illustrator. He has now published over 50 books as author and illustrator. His book, Hi! Fly Guy received a 2006 Theodor Seuss Geisel Honor from the American Library show more Association.
