Seymour Simon takes readers on a thrilling voyage into space, this time beyond our own Solar System and galaxy. First, Simon explores the beginnings of our universe, starting with the Big Bang, and discusses whether the universe is still expanding. As readers pore over each breathtaking photograph, they will marvel at how new stars are born and old stars die. Finally, they will learn about some of the most fascinating mysteries of the universe, including quasars and black holes.
I have also reviewed Simon's Space and there is much overlap between these two books. This book also contains fantastic images of deep space. Again, I would use this only in the higher grade levels. I don't feel that this would work well with 2 grade or younger. I would use maybe on of the pictures to start a discussion but I don't think this book as is would be good to read out loud to the class.
More for the science section.
