I listened to this on audiobook, usually I really like this authors books but I was disappointed with this one. It was ok. Nothing to brag about. ( )

A love story of the predictable kind. The writing is simplistic and rather sappy. The trip into the jungle and travel log of Peru is what I found interesting about this book. ( )

A good read about rebuilding when you lose hope, there is always someone there for you at the perfect time. Very inspiring!!! Evans puts it all together. Paul In the wake of personal tragedy, two people meet on a humanitarian mission in Peru. Christine is a shy, unadventurous woman whose fiancee broke off the engagement only a week before the wedding, and Paul is a former emergency room doctor whose glamorous lifestyle, stellar reputation, and beautiful fiancee are cruelly snatched from him one fateful, snowy Christmas Eve. Deep in the Amazon jungle, against a backdrop of poverty and heartbreak, they must confront their deepest fears and, together, learn to trust and love again. ( )

The story itself is chicklit in pure teenaged form: chaste, romantic, happily-ever after. The characters give the illusion of being dynamic, but they're fairly two-dimensional and stereotypical in gender roles. Like Disney in written form. If you're fourteen and a girl, you will probably love this book. Otherwise, I suggest finding an alternative.

At least this audio book was narrated by Campbell Scott, and he has an awesome voice, so there was that redeeming aspect. ( )

One of my favorite books of all time! This was just a marvelous story about overcoming adversity in life through the healing powers of true love. I'd recommend it to all of my friends and family! ( )
