I read this and Horne's [b:A Savage War of Peace: Algeria, 1954-1962|18242|A Savage War of Peace Algeria, 1954-1962|Alistair Horne|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1386926490s/18242.jpg|19698] concurrently, and I found Horne's book—though twice as long—to be much more rewarding.
